Pride has a fall, well the devil is in the detail and it also depends on the
attributes of the person judging another persons 'pride'.

The case of Mohammad Ali comes to mind. Some would say he boasted and was too
proud but I have no problem in accepting the facts although it was his self
assessment, and not accusing him of excessive pride. He said that he was the
most beautiful person, well he certainly was remarkably beautiful, bodily and
intellectually, with a great sense of humour. He proudly predicted in how many
rounds he would knock out his opponents and he was mostly correct. He stood by
his principles by refusing to fight against the Vietcong. How many of us can
float like a butterfly and sting like a bee like proud Mohammad Ali, the
greatest? Pride always has a fall? With so many fools in the world? Don't make
me laugh.

In contrast, Trump, the convicted criminal is proud of his criminality and has
demonstrated umpteen times that he is a shallow minded liar. Despite all that,
he has retained millions of followers who do not care about his unjustified
pride. Scandalous and a disgrace to the USA busy making itself great again.
Proud of what?

Pride, in this context, refers to an inflated sense of self-importance or
superiority, often blinding a person to their flaws or vulnerabilities.
This overconfidence can lead to poor decisions, complacency, or reckless
behavior, ultimately resulting in negative consequences. The proverb serves
as a reminder to remain humble and self-aware, no matter one's achievements
or status.
