ISL Promoting soccer There was a massive publicity at the time of launching the scheme.,as it was awaited with bathed breath. Presently even the crowd participation is on the wane with stands being half empty .The National and international players are enticed to change clubs for better remuneration.No doubt it has received all India fame.Wish someone gave the ranking of ISL in India and abroad. The foreign participants are not in their prime but at the fag end of their career. and younger stars may not be allowed due to restrictive clauses and timing of the tournament. Fortunately even the retired players command a price to the envy of the locals . Our players lack the stamina to be productive for full 90 minutes plus. The whole tournament is dragged on too long with breaks.It is not to be gloated over,as till date we have not been able to produce a single commentator.The lure of foreign coaches and supporting staff is too obvious. OUR National soccer team depending on foreign coach has been a disaster even among Assian competitators. Our referees are doing a job but their expertise and fairness is best left for another day .Has ISL killed the growth of soccer in India. ? Santosh Trophy once the pride of Soccer in India has declined in popularity and is playing a second fiddle currently to ISL. ISL Soccer carnival gets motivated by publicity glare. ISL has produced a betting syndicate that appears to fix outcones.It does not look like it has given a boost to soccer, since there is no rush as in cricket of glamour.Surprisingly there is blast of cricket fixtures during ISL advertisement breaks .Limiting foreign players a wise decision to enhance local talents. The wide disparity in fees need to be narrowed ,inspite of the fact the remuneration is way beyond what best clubs may offer.No boost to new infrastucture as.the old playing fields are still hosting the event with refurbished light towers Games under flood lights is ISL specilaity .Our players have not reached international standards and none have made the grade by any offer from outstanding Clubs .ISL is surely a nursery to National team and dream of local talent to be spotted.Northeast may have grown besides Bengal, Kerela,Goa,Punjab the soccer giants of yester years.How ISL has given a boost to soccer needs enlightenment Is it purely run indirectly on a business model of profits?The publicity of fixtures,schedules,venues is constrained by revenues ?.Mrs Neeta Ambani has secured a prestigious representation at international level.Does income from gate collections,sponrsorhips,memorabilia, sustain the adventure ?
