Shaswat Ray Gupta exits Heraldo As the editor GT ,he had taken the daily to great heights of popularity .He was very popular Editor ,who found lot of appreciation and admiration, as he felt the pulse of the people.He was very much in demand in the society to chair meetings and address the gatherings with eager audiences desiring to listen to his experience and wisdom.He was the editor who was not an arm chair pressperson but very much in contact with society.Many of his exposure have received prestigious awards felicitating him for his praiseworthy depictions.His write ups on armed forces have received glorious innings .When the GT was shut down for economic reasons , he had to say goodbye very reluctantly but left indelible footprints of the legacy of journalism.A very humble and simple personality ,approachable and unassuming journalist The PCTrust,unique Regd Trust for any Vilage with schemes for promoting excellence in academics ,sports ,appreciating teachers and providing aid to elderly ,besides text books,uniforms ,medical help with outreach going beyond Chinchinim Village.Mr Shaswat projected Trust and specially the recipients that gladden the parents,schools,.and published resumes of prominent faces and was thus a valuable promoter of Trust , without any special requests He secured teaching positions in Journalism in Bengal and left his mark.It was offerings from Heraldo on acceptable terms on contract that he preferred to be relocate in Goa He leaves at the end of term of contract.On the advise and suggestion of his superiors he painstakingly prepared a report on PCTrust .The Trust,parents,teachers students were disappointed when the report was shelved without any explanation . His decision not to seek extension was his personal decision as journalism freedom was apparently curtailed and did not find free .expression Trust has in gratitude felicitated him for his contributions and promotion of Trust Schemes.
