Mervyn,
What I had heard as a child - in fact, witnessed a
worried mother come to a doctor with this complaint
regarding his son who was sleeping at home - that
drinking alcohol after eating water melon kills you.
The doctor asked her how much alcohol he had drunk,
and assured her that her son won't die because of
this, immediately. But if he continues drinking a lot
of alcohol all the time for a long time then there is
a chance that he would die.
