. TRUMP FAVOURITE TARRIF WARS
Executive orders by Trump can only be challenged in court or reversed by the next President. Congress needs a 2/3 majority to override, and even then, the President can veto. The sharp tariff increase may harm trade-dependent nations. The U.S., with the highest debt, risks economic strain. Trade with Canada and Mexico is beneficial due to proximity, but tariffs will hurt consumers. While Trump insists on maintaining tariffs, relocating businesses from China, India, and others will take time. Nations are interdependent, and self-sufficiency is unrealistic in the short term. Higher tariffs will raise consumer costs and make U.S. exports less competitive. Trump overlooks that tariffs are a double-edged sword. Cutting aid may reduce debt, but isolating America damages its global standing. Nations that resist change risk fading into history.
