Filipe Neri Cardinal Ferrao, in expressing profound shock and pain at the sudden demise of our Holy Father, the Universal Head of the Catholic Church. The late Holy Father will be fondly remembered and leaves behind an enduring legacy that transcended the boundaries of the Church. Amidst raging conflicts around the world, particularly in Palestine, the birthplace of Christianity, the late Holy Father was a resounding and consistent voice for sustained peace, hope and reconciliation. The late Holy Father had the courage of his convictions to speak truth to the powers-that-be and became a powerful voice for the poor and the marginalized, especially the suffering migrants around the world. Our dear departed Holy Father leaves behind a perpetual legacy, espousing Christian and Gospel Values of transformation, truth, justice, freedom, simplicity, equality, dignity, inclusivity and harmony with God’s Creation. His poignant words in his last Easter Message to the world, *Urbi et Orbi*, last Sunday, will continue ringing in our hearts and minds, being particularly relevant to our context: “There can be no peace without freedom of religion, freedom of thought, freedom of expression and respect for the views of others.” The CAG joins in prayerful communion with the grief-stricken millions praying that the Almighty grant him just reward for his unwavering and untiring labours in His Vineyard as he makes his ‘Passover’ as a faithful ‘Pilgrim’ on this earth with fervent hope towards the Eternal City of Peace.
