Thousands of volunteers across New York State will be out helping to clean debris and litter ahead of Earth Day. The annual Canal Clean Sweep event provides opportunities for communities to help clean up the Canalway Trail, which runs throughout New York State. The event, organized by Parks & Trails NY and the New York Canal Corporation, is composed of public and private clean-up events. More than 180 public events are scheduled during the weekend of April 18-20, 2025, including several events in central New York.
