P.M.’s Visit Spurs Swift Action The Prime Minister’s visit to inaugurate the 5-ft statue of Lord Ram has triggered unexpected and rapid action in Goa. An army of labourers cleared the NH-66 stretch of overgrown bushes and long-ignored outgrowth. Residents of Dandeavaddo, Chinchinim—especially senior citizens—have finally sighed with relief.
For over the years persistent nuisance, noise pollution from rumblers, and recurring increased , fatal accidents remained unaddressed despite visits, representations, public outcry, and press coverage. What could not be achieved in 3 years has been accomplished virtually overnight. The road has been freshly tarred, covering rumbblers at the junction, offering long-awaited smooth passage and sparing many elderly residents their daily discomfort of back breaking journey. Ironically, it is unlikely that the P.M. himself would take this arduous route due to tight security protocols. Yet his mere visit has resolved long-festering issues without any formal request. Thank you, P.M.—do visit Goa more often. Nelson Lopes Chinchinim Nelson Lopes Chinchinim https://lopesnelsonnat.wordpress.com
