🟧🟦 DR JACK DE SEQUEIRA 🟩🟥
Father of the Opinion Poll
🟦 Father of the Opinion Poll — a rightful name,
No hand can steal it, no voice can shame.
Assembly affirmed, the Centre stood tall,
History sealed it beyond recall.

🟩 As Gandhi is Father of our Nation’s soul,
Through sacrifice that made us whole,
So stands Dr Jack in Goa’s story,
Crowned by truth, not borrowed glory.

🟨 Leader of Opposition, firm and brave,
He lit the path democracy gave.
Vision united hearts once torn,
Merger defeated, identity born.

🟧 The Opinion Poll — a people’s cry,
Ballots spoke, not sword nor lie.
First of its kind, a world to see,
Goa chose herself — proud and free.

🟥 Yet those who harmed Goa find honour today,
While Dr Jack’s memory is pushed away.
Erasing the guardian of culture and tongue
Is a wound on justice, deeply stung.

🟦 No memorial, no Asmitai Day,
Still grateful hearts refuse decay.
Public statues rise, silently proclaim:
His sacrifice was never in vain.

🟩 Statehood — a crown Goa now wears,
Won by courage amid doubts and fears.
Yet those who benefit forget the fight,
Enjoying the fruits, denying the light.

🟨 Had Goa stayed a district, small and bound,
No Chief Minister’s chair, no Speaker’s sound.
Culture subdued, voice made weak,
Identity lost, too frail to speak.

🟧 False claimants circle history’s flame,
Seeking titles they never earned nor claimed.
Outside applause cannot rewrite the past —
Only sacrifice makes legacies last.

🟥 Once saved, Goa’s soul is threatened again,
By greed, division, and careless gain.
But truth stands firm, beyond control:
Dr Jack remains — Father of the Opinion Poll.
