Heavy, incessant rains lash Goa
Panjim, Aug 7: Heavy rains and gusty winds continued to wreck havoc in
several parts of Goa with low lying areas being submerged and trees
uprooted. Widespread damage has been caused to property through out the
state.
Rivers have approached the danger mark and the traffic almost came to a
grinding halt as most of the roads were flooded. Normal life was thrown
out of gear with power supply to several parts of the State being
disrupted.
Most parts of Goa witnessed heavy to very heavy rains crossing 6 inches
in 24 hours. While Tiswadi didn't experience heavy damage, fire service
officials said they had to attend to uprooting of trees.
