Re the anguish in your post about corrupt politicians in Goa and the Goans
being sussegad, the Peruvians seem even more sussegad than the Goans and the
better off have great fun in the midst of poverty and unemployment for
significant numbers. I don't know enough about their politics but some are
increasingly concerned about corruption, disparity in wealth and about what
their new found tourism to places like Machu Pichu (one of the new wonders
of the world), Cusco, and to the floating islands on Lake Tititcaca might
be doing to them, whilst understandably chasing tourist revenues.
