BICHOLIM AUG 20:The Govt Primary school, Bicholim, has bagged the
first prize in the All Goa Patriotic song singing competition
organized by the Kesari International Club of Porvorim.
The second and the third prizes were awarded to Dona Leonar Memorial
High School, (Alto-Betim) and the Dr K B Hegdevar High school (Panjim)
respectively, while consolation prizes were presented to L D Samant
Memorial high school (Porvorim) and Mustifund High school (Panjim).
Sandeep Kalangutker and Mrs Kamat adjudged the contest and prizes were
distributed by the chief guest and senior journalist Jayant Sambhaji.
In his address, Sambhaji observed that most students are not aware of
the sacrifices made by freedom fighters to win India its independence
and urged parents and teachers to highlight the importance of freedom
struggle of India.
