What this overlooks is the airport capacity TAKEN OUT in the process. These
include at Bangalore HAL, Hyderabad Begumpet, Dabolim (Goa), and Lohegaon
(Pune). At an average of 6 million passengers per annum each this would add
up to a loss of 24 million capacity. This is 25% of the additions expected.
And it is not on paper but fully functioning airports which are more
civilian than military. What myopia on the part of the government and
rigidity on the part of the military!
