Great start to Campus-Radio Career Guidance Series '07

CAREER GUIDANCE
SERIES 2007
The Campus-Radio Career Guidance Series 2007 was inaugurated by Sanjay
Bahadur, Additional Commissioner of Income Tax and Man Asia Literary Prize
list nominee, at the AIR Auditorium in Altinho, yesterday (27 August 2007)
in the presence of AIR Station Director B. D. Mazumdar, V Principal of Dempo
College Pravin Gaokar, Director of Plus Publications Ilidio de Noronha,
Margao Centre Head of Frankfinn Gerson Rebelo, Corporate Trainer Pravin
Sabnis and Focus Group Director Dr Ajoy Estibeiro.
The unique 'land-to-air' career event, launched amid a jam-packed audience
comprising Dempo College students, is being conducted in 11 educational
institutions in Goa and will subsequently be broadcast on AIR's FM Rainbow
and televised on HCN for the benefit of the larger student community in Goa.
The event is organised by AIR's FM Rainbow in association with Plus
Publications. Herald and HCN are the Media Partners of the event.
In his inaugural address, Sanjay Bahadur congratulated the organisers for
such a social-oriented initiative and u nderlined the need for youth to opt
for public service as a career today.
B. D. Mazumdar welcomed the dignitaries and said that the AIR will continue
to be committed to causes of benefit to society. Ilidio de Noronha outlined
the objectives of the Campus-Radio Career Series.
Career expert for the day, Pravin Sabnis, enlightened the students on the
essentials for one's career amid the rapidly changing 21 st century
scenario.
Guest speaker for the day, Dr Ajoy Estibeiro, shared his personal account of
how pre-empting the requirements of a changing world helped him and his
company to excel in the world of business. Also, an NDTV documentary
presented a new perspective on life in the airline industry.
The sessions were punctuated with rapid-fire contests and lively anchoring
by RJs Saish, Leeta, Savio and Bambino who elicited an enthusiastic response
from the audience.
The event is sponsored by Frankfinn Institute of Air Hostess Training, with
IMS Learning Centre, Broadway Book Centre and Plus Books as the Associate
Sponsors.
The Campus-Radio trail moves today (28 August 2007, 11am) to Don Bosco
Higher Secondary School, Panjim.
