Premji, if the comment is correctly attributed to him, makes a point,
but I do not support a generalization against Scheduled Castes and
Other Backward Castes and Tribes.
There are many learned, well educated and well integrated members of
these castes who achieved their success without needing the
reservations policy. They completed their educational pursuits with
good marks and worked hard in their professions which includes pilots
and doctors even if these were generally in minority.
Therefore to say:
Let's recruit SC/ST and OBC pilots for aircrafts which are carrying
the ministers and politicians (that can really help the country...)
and
Ensure that only SC/ST and OBC doctors do the operations for the
ministers and other politicians. (Another way of saving the
country...)
is both insulting and insensitive.
