'Bombay Dekho' (Watch Bombay) is a song in which the late Jacinto Vaz
entertains children through an imaginary slide show - if he sang the song
today; he could have really produced slides pertinent to the lyrics and
shown them on the stage through a slide projector. The lyrics of the song
are simple but they are a hint to the government of the situation prevalent
then.
The late Jacinto Vaz sang this song soon after his controversial song in
which he criticized Akaxvanni Pannji for playing Marathi-type songs, instead
of Konkani, for which he and his songs were banned on Akaxvanni Pannji for
sometime.
