Malvan/Ratnagiri, and Catholics now allow themselves to bake on the margins.
The Malvan Catholics who live in that 'Greater Gomant' are fully and
happily integrated with their Hindu neighbours. They study marathi,
exclusively, and speak konkanni, exclusively: must i assume that they don't
know they are missing something ! Certainly, the twenty thousand konkanni
Vengurlites in Cape Town think otherwise, as they use our Ugric notations, not
Roman, or Cyrillic, for that matter.
The Bishop of Malvan is a Goan; Rajan must carry his plea to the man's
door, we do need help, in a hurry. eric.
