Dear Villagers and Guests:
Welcome to our Sixteenth Anniversary and the Annual Feast
of
Patron St. Alex. Today we have an opportunity to celebrate
our
traditional culture with our families, friends and guests
from Canada
and around the world
I would like to thank each and every one of you for your
wholehearted support and attendance on this occasion.
We are proud to pledge our solidarity to Goans around the
World by
designating the 2007 Calangute Social celebrations as part
of the
World Goa Day celebrated throughout the World on August
20th,
2007. We request all the Goan Organizations including the
Village
Associations throughout the World to join and support the
World
Alliance of Goan Overseas Associations.
I am confident that our future Committee will be motivated
and
ready for challenges just as all the predecessors were, and
continue
with our Calangute Annual Feast.
The Executive Committee is coming to the end of itÂ’s two
year term
and I would also like to express my sincere gratitude to
members of
my Executive Committee, their spouses and other volunteers
who
have worked with me over the past six years during my
presidency,
especially the last few weeks in making this day a great
success.
