(English translation)

It is important that we always have a humble heart and not think of ourselves
more highly than we ought to think. It is through God's power that we succeed
and live an abundant life and for us to have an arrogant attitude that says we
are better than someone else will eventually lead our life down the path of
destruction. No wonder our ancestors have left us an apt proverb: “Gorvak ani
sorgak poddonam”, which roughly translated means ‘there is no match between
pride and heaven’.

We need to remember that we all came from dust and will one day return to dust.
Being prideful and thinking of ourselves more highly than we ought to think is
something that should be non-existent.

The Bible tells us to be humble because God resists the proud, but He gives
grace to the humble. We are to recognize God’s superiority and know that it is
in Him that we receive our strength and ability.

We need to remember that it was pride that brought Lucifer from the heights of
heaven down to the destruction of hell. Let us never make the same mistake
that Lucifer made. In his quest to be like the Most High God, he was brought
down lower than any other created being. Let us be humble and be quick to
thank God for every gift He has given us.

This is a good story that shows the end result of having a proud heart. I pray
this message ministers to your heart to always be humble in the sight of the
Lord and know that acknowledging God and thanking Him for your daily blessings
will lead your life to the high pastures that God has prepared for those with a
humble heart.

HOW THE PROUD FROG FELL!

In a certain pond lived two wild ducks and a frog. They were the best of
friends. All day long they played together. When the hot summer came, the
pond began to dry up. Soon there was so little water that they realized they
would have to move. Now the ducks could easily fly to another pond, but what
about their friend, the frog?

Finally, it was decided that the ducks would put the two ends of a stick in
their bills. Then the frog could hang onto the middle of the stick with his
mouth, and the ducks would fly him to another pond.

As they were flying low, a farmer in his field looked up; and when he saw the
strange formation, he said, “Well, isn't that a clever idea! I wonder who
thought of that idea.” The frog opened his big mouth and said, “I did!” Then
down he fell to his death!

Let us never allow pride to enter into our hearts and life. It will ruin our
future and lead our lives down the path of destruction, but when we humble
ourselves before the eyes of the Lord, God in His mercy will lift us up to
heights that we never thought imaginable.
