Mascarenhas " / Sources : Goanet /Aloysious D'Souza / Jean & Marcos Catao / Fernando do Rego - - Dr.Ubaldo Mascarenhas was my uncle. He was my father's brother. My father's name was Leopold Cagatan Mascarenhas. There was another brother called Felix Mascarenhas. My father and his brother, Felix, studied medicine at Edinburgh University in Scotand before the first World War. My father married my mother, who was Irish and he practiced medicine in a coal mining village in South Wales. I believe his brother, Felix, was on the staff of the then Crown Prince of Italy. I do not know anything more about him. Both my parents died before I was eleven years old, and I was brought up by my Mother's sister in Ireland. I know hardly anything about by Uncle Ubaldo, so I am writing to see if your organisation could help me. I am now 86 years old and intend to come to Goa later this year in the hope of finding my roots. I would like to know the whereabouts of my father's home, the church in which he was baptised and the school he attended, where he played and what his parents did for a living. I understand that my uncle Ubaldo was not married, but he had a lady consort to escort him on his duties as mayor. I should like to know more about her, and also if I have any relatives in Bombay and Goa. I would be extremely grateful for any information you can give me, or if you can advise me where I can find out more about my Goan roots. Yours sincerly. Felix Mascarenhas
