Churchill rules out
SGF merger

MARGAO, OCT 8 Save Goa Front supremo Churchill Alemao has ruled out merger of
his regional outfit into the Congress as a compromise to a Congress ticket for
his lawyer daughter Valanka.
Theres no question of merging SGF into the Congress, Alemao told Herald,
even as there were reports that the Congress high command has put a condition
that the PWD Minister merge his outfit with the national party.
Sources, however, disclosed that the Congress high command is reported to have
insisted that Alemao merge his nascent SGF with the national party.
A wary Alemao is learnt to have told Congress leaders that he cannot merge his
outfit with the Congress at this juncture and that he may consider the proposal
at a later date.
Alemao is believed to have maintained that he may think about the merger once
the issues vis-a-vis language script etc are resolved.
