The sequel to this story is that with all the media coverage, ICICI
Bank compensated the family with 15 lakhs. Part of it in cash and the
rest with a mix of annuity payments and fixed deposit yields to pay
for the childrens' education and other family expenses over several
years.
That this could happen in India is shocking indeed.
