Firstly...thanks for your comments on my mail. I would say update your
knowledge on Goan politics a bit. Having done that, i would think you are a
Sardinha sympathiser. Well if that serves you...its your choice.
I know Sardinha personally, so also Dr Wilfred Misquita, but then... in the
current dispensations...I guess none of them is worthy of my vote. The
|Congress betrayed Goans...the BJP hurt Goans, specially the minorities.
I am aware of much ground realities of curtorim constituency as my mother hails
from there...Sardinha never allowed young leaders to come up. Also he was also
trounced by Antonio Gaonkar in the 1990s...if you recollect. I accept your
views that defeat and wins are part of elections. I was actively involved in
college level politics, i won a record 5 elections out of five and was also
felicitated for that...two were unopposed, i held posts like chairman of the
council and the general secretary of the council. And we revolutionised the
college and had many firsts..but that some other day!
Well in the recent years the elections in Goa r fought bet the congress and the
bjp...see how the devil is trying to quote the scriptures this time...I mean
the BJP or Parrikar trying to put up a christao candidate in South, knowing
very well that the minority vote bank is quite sizeable. I am sure like many
others including your very own sardinha, it is yet another politician
Parriker/BJP will used and discard...ask dotor Willy, Babush.. etc.
I grew up observing Eduardo Faleiro...his dynamism and his presence, his
writings and speeches in summits as far away in Portugal...I have a personally
signed copy of his first book, 'From the Floor'...India lacked good and dynamic
leaders like Eduardo,..he was examplary! I even remember putting up his posters
at elections while i was associated with politics in Goa then...and most of his
victories were agains the MGP...the Late MS prabhu being one of them...I
remember that partularly as the campaign tag for the MGP then was a poster
around a literally starved looking replica of a LION which said MS for LS. MS
lost his deposite against a Congress wave.
As for Babush...although he is made a big scapegoat for the RP and other
allegations, nothing has been proved yet. And if he was bad, y would the Aam
Aadmi oriented Congress touch him?
