Am wondering whether it is shoddy policing or reporting?

Is the police or the press speculating or certain that this is a "case of drowning" and have "ruled out any foul play"?? If this is the case, is a post-mortem really necessary?

Margao bank manager found dead at Colva

Margao, Oct 17 The manager of a nationalised bank at Margao, Shashikant D Jadav (54) was found dead on the Colva beach today morning. The body was found in ankle deep waters on the sea shore.

Colva PI, Mr Edwin Colaco said that the police received a call at around 7 a.m. regarding the body on the beach. Apart from his identity card, nothing else was found on his body, police said.

Family members informed the police that he had left the house for work yesterday morning, but did not return. Police disclosed that he had taken a loan from the bank.

The body of the manager who is a resident of Aquem-Alto, Margao was shifted to Hospicio hospital, Margao for conducting the postmortem, police said.

Police disclosed that they are probing into the details as to how he reached Colva beach. A case of unnatural death has been registered.

Police suspect that the incident could be a case of drowning and ruled out any foul play.
