Alfred, I remember Dona Etelvina. The ground shook every time she passed my mother's house and not just from her weight! Must have been all the ghosts of the suckling pigs that accompanied her footsteps.
Regret to tell you Dona Berta passed away in September. She was in a Ponda facility and was unable to talk for the past one year. Perhaps the effect of a stroke, though Senhor Antonio will be able to tell you more. As for your coming to Toronto in spring, if you bring along some sharp Swedish vodka we shall guarantee sending you back with the finest Canadian ice wine.
