RESPONSE: Gypsies are called Gypos here ( derogatorily ). Gypsies did
originate from India...Goa to be precise. Their Romany language, if
spoken slowly could be understood as Konkani. Their ceremonies which
have Coconuts, also alludes to Goa, as are their bright clothes and
love of Gold - surely a Goan trait !
