Reprieve for Vishwajeet

BY HERALD REPORTER

PANJIM, OCT 24 — Health Minister Vishwajeet Rane on
Wednesday got a temporary reprieve from the Sessions Court, Panjim, in a
criminal complaint filed against him by Advocate Aires Rodrigues before the
JMFC, here.

Rane had filed for a revision application before the Sessions Court. While
hearing his application today, the Sessions Court called for records and
proceedings from the lower court, thus automatically staying the show-cause
notices issued against the minister and his wife Divya Rane to appear before
it.

It may be recalled Advocate Rodrigues had filed a criminal complaint at the Old
Goa Police Station against Rane in which he alleged that the latter calling
from his wife’s cell had threatened to kill him.

It is learnt that the matter has been kept for hearing before the Sessions
Court on November 23.
