GaunkarsFirst warns Goans not to vote against their identity
GaunkarsFirst (GF) in their monthly newsletter Gaunkary Watch, have called
attention of all Goans, especially those in South Goa, not to commit the error
of voting for candidates or political parties who scorn, disregard and
continuously abet or tend to abet atrocities against native Goans and their
age-old institutions the Comunidades of Goa.
GF sought to remind Goans that a 12-point Charter of Demands of
the Gaunkars of Goa was released in March this year and copies of the same
were submitted to all leading political parties active in Goa, both national
and regional, prior to the State Assembly elections held in June, for inclusion
in their respective election manifestos. Till date no political organization
has confirmed the incorporation of these legitimate demands even in the South
Goa Parliamentary elections.
GF warns Goans not to lose their unique identity by supporting
candidates and political parties that do not have the interests of native Goan
laws, culture, identity and institutions, such as the Comunidades of Goa, close
to their hearts.
