Dear all So much has been written by so many writers, for and against Manohar
Parrikar, yet not a single word from the great man himself. You mean he does
not read the goanet or is does not care a damn of what people say? He wants to
be the leader for Goans, Goans of all caste, religion and denominations. Those,
who are cent percent Goans and those who have accepted Goa as their home. Some
who know the great man, and some only thru the news papers and goanet or other
such means? Yet, we don’t find anywhere M. Parrikar himself telling the fellow
Goans, who he wants to rule, his points of view on what happened during his
earlier reign, and why he failed to garner the support he intended to as a
single majority in the last elections.  He himself announced that he
would not be in the ruling if he did not get the required number of seats, and
than stooped to such depth by playing the political games. What you promise you
should stick to that promise. But not him, maybe th
e temptation of the chair was such that dirty games were needed?. For those
who say he is an able administrator, well accepting it that he is a great man,
than why don’t people of Goa accept him? Mind you, Goa is majority Hindus.
Christians are just around 30 percent and others maybe the remaining. BJP is a
party called Bharatya Janta Party. Meaning, India’s People’s Party. So with
such a name, why could he not get elected with absolute full majority? The
people going to vote are not Indians? Of course they are, so why did he not get
the votes? Now you may say because of the Christians. Now Christians are not a
majority in Goa, so who cares even if all the Christians did not vote. The
Hindu Majority is more than enough isn’t it? Yet why did he not? Who can answer
this question better than Manohar Parrikar himself? I feel he should come
forward and let the people of Goa know what he is and where he stands, and what
he intends on doing for Goa. Absolute truth, and not promises
to win the elections. He must apologize for the wrong portrayal of the
Christians in the VCD he had produced. There is no harm in humbling himself.
its one of the most genuine thing he can do and can win great rewards. If he
intends to take Goa as Dr Carmo from USA says, than he should do so. He has to
deny himself the VHP or RSS label as Goa does not need anyone who is communal.
Enough is enough, Goa needs to move forward. There are many issues to be
solved, prime being the language issue, the Kingdom of Candolim issue, as we
already know, India too off all titles of all Princely kingdoms and only
remaining one is in Candolim which is ruled by the Princess of Candolim.:), The
other issues are garbage issue, airport issue, and of course there are many.
Let him let the Goans what he intends on doing on all these issues and more and
make Goa not only the IFFI centre of India, but real genuine tourist center of
India. Cheers Jerry Fernandes
