Dhirios attract more crowd than political meetings!
BY HERALD REPORTER MARGAO, OCT 28 - Political parties may have complained of poor attendance at the campaign meetings of the Congress and BJP candidates in Salcete taluka, one may say. But, the traditional “dhirios” seems to be drawing response more than these political meetings. Varca saw a huge Sunday crowd assembled behind the market area to witness a bull fight. While the Colva police say they have succeeded in stopping the bullfight, an eyewitness said the bullfight ended in altercations between two groups. But, one thing was sure that the bull-fight at Varca attracted a crowd of over 500 persons - drawn from far and wide - just to have a glimpse of the bulls locking horns with each other. Incidentally, a Congress worker alleged that the bull fight was deliberated fixed on Sunday evening to dissuade party supporters from attending the party meetings at Lohia Maidan and the NCP meeting at Betalbatim grounds. http://oheraldo.in/pagedetails.asp?nid=3520&cid=26 Sanny de Quepem <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Send instant messages to your online friends http://uk.messenger.yahoo.com
