HC directs state to look into public health system
NT Legal Correspondent Panaji, Oct 29 The division bench of the Bombay High Court comprising of Mr Justice RMS Khandeparkar and Mr Justice RS Mohite has granted the government time till November 23 to look into the problems in the public health system in Goa.The Bench has also stated that the authorities will have to take appropriate steps to improve the medical facilities in the state. While the court was enquiring about the cleanliness in Goa Medical College, the advocate general, Mr Subodh Kantak submitted that they are looking into the aspect of cleanliness and hygiene in the public health centers. The petitioner, Mr Prakash Sardessai had approached the court to look into the medical scam that is allegedly going on at commercialised private hospitals in Goa .
