Re: IIFI theatres, stages to be christened after Goan artists
The inaugural stage of IFFI 2007 will be named after late Dattaram Wadkar, a musician who scored music for Hindi films like "Parvarish", he said. "Various events spanning across the state will have stages named after these personalities, " Wagh said. Other noted Goan personalities, who will be remembered through this initiative at the IFFI are: Pandurang Naik (cinematographer) , K Vaikunth (cinematographer) , C Alvare (actor), Prem Kumar (actor), Minakshi Shirodkar (actress), Chris Perry (musician), N Datta (musician) and Bhanudas Divkar (editor). RESPONSE:- Why Dattaram Wadkar? And that too a musician, why was the Writer/Director of FIRST Konkani Film “Mogacho Anvdo” not chosen or Jerry Braganza who produced Buerantlo Munis, or the producer of Amchem Noxib, or Nirmon, yes it had to someone within the family. On the other hand these personalities like C. Alvares, Prem Kumar, Chris Perry, etc are not only actors but Writer/Directors as well who have produced many tiatr of quality. Was Uday Bembre in this Committee? And what was Tomazinho Cardoz doing, could you not recommend one of the well known Writer/Director? Probably you are too busy writing you speech for the Puroskar that you are about to receive and cleaning the place where you want to showcase it. This lousy Committee did the same blunder while naming the Margao auditorium which will be mostly utilized by the Konkani tiatrist to stage their shows. Any way if it suits everyone then one lonely voice can’t make much noise.
