Several mails on Goanet refer to Manohar Parrikar as the best choice for CM, some calling him "the right man in the wrong party". While these claims themselves are open to debate (and thankfully, are being hotly debated), one thing that strikes me is that politics is very much like marriage in India -- you don't end up tying the knot with one person, but with a whole family. And if there's one clan anyone -- Hindu, Muslim, Christian or of any other persuasion -- would be chary of adopting as in-laws, it's the Sangh Parivar.
