If we were able to predict the dates of our individual demise, the insurance companies would be out of business, in turn this will cause great drops in all the countries' blue chip companies, not to mention all the associated businesses that hang-on to "dear life" in the hope you dont die as predicted, or they would be out of business. Time, tide & death may not wait for us but are we anyway ready for it when it does come? No we are not. There was always the regret that we did not do this or that, or the ultimate "why me..........?", "why now..........?" etc that would go through our heads. No, I do not believe we should know the time or date of our deaths, that is part of the mystery & mystic of all life on earth, and beyond........... we will all get the previlege of getting a slice of death (to coin a phrase) when the time comes, some of us will get it sooner than later, others much later & no doubt about it, none of us will ever "die in peace" unless or until we have put everything in order and made peace with ourselves, our families and with our Gods. Many of us will find the manner of our individual deaths acceptable, because we have no choice in the matter, the decision has been made, the biological clock is about to be switched off, whether it is in old age, which we all hope & pray for, or by some ghastly accident, murder or disease. In all the different or similar ways, we will go onto our destiny, all of us, even those who are "atheists, agnostics & pagans" but we will hopefully leave a much wiser, kinder world behind us, that is my only prayer.
