* IFFI creates talent platforms for Goa with film related competitions to encourage local participation. As the countdown to the 38th International Film Festival of India, Goa rings loud, it's going to be cinema, cinema and only cinema for 10 days, featuring some of the finest movies made around the world. Meantime, for those seeking multi-hued talent platforms and creative recognition, IFFI 2007 will host a series of competitions in varied formats for the benefit of local participation.

List of Competitions announced for IFFI 2007:
1. Lyric Writing Competition (English, Hindi, Konkani, Marathi)
Participants should submit a single entry of their original lyrics. The Best 3 entries will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 & Rs 5,000.
Topics: Motivational Prayer, Natural Ambience, Teamwork

2. Film Story Competition (English, Hindi, Konkani, Marathi)
Original storylines of maximum four A4 pages
The Best 3 entries will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000 & Rs 5,000.

3. Music Composition Competition
Participants should submit a CD of one of their original musical compositions. The lyrics can be of their own choice. Minimum duration of the composition is 3 minutes / maximum 5 minutes. The top 3 entries will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 25,000, Rs 20,000 & Rs 15,000.

4. Locations in Goa Contest
Capture unknown locations ideal for filming in Goa. Prints of size 12 x 18 inches to be submitted. The top 3 entries will be awarded cash prizes of Rs 15,000, Rs 10,000 & Rs 7,000.

PLEASE NOTE:
All entries for the above competitions should have the name of the competition on individual envelopes and submitted to the office of the Programme Committee, Old GMC Complex, by 1.00pm on Nov 27, 2007.

5. Rangoli Competition
Participants should prepare a rangoli based on the portrait of a film personality. Maximum size 5 x 5 feet. Eligibility criteria: Participants will have to provide photographs or testimonials of earlier work. Participation entries are to be submitted by Nov 23, 2007 to the office of the Programme Committee, Old GMC Complex. The Competition will be held on Nov 25. The Best three rangoli creations will be awarded Rs 10,000, Rs 7,000, Rs 5,000. Every selected participant will be given Rs 2,000 towards rangoli expenses. Prizes will be awarded on Dec 2 at Panaji.
