Looks like you're having a relapse! What was the
purpose of the following post?
>
What are your credentials to criticise Bernard Shaw?
You claim you're an MBA -- that too from some US
university. Please lay off literature for your own
good!

Mario responds:
>
Hey, RKN, you need to lighten up a little, man. All I
was engaged in was some mild and lighthearted
capitalist humor at the expense of a proponent of a
failed socialist ideology. Your bitter and angry
reaction was uncalled for.
>
The REAL purpose of my post was to suggest that the
quote by Fred from George Bernard Shaw made no sense
to me. Instead of explaining what I may have missed,
you are implausibly suggesting that Goanetters now
need "credentials" - supposedly ones that you would
approve of because a US MBA is not good enough - in
order to comment on literary nonsense in this forum.

Or have you made it your business to trash anyone who
admired the Soviet Union -- dead or alive?

Mario observes:

You need to be careful, or you, too, may drive Francis
Rodrigues, Goanet's self-appointed resident expert on
the English language, even madder for the
inappropriate use of the word "trash" versus the word
you should have used, "thrash":-)) But, I digress.
>
Was it left to me to thrash the philosophical
underpinnings of the Soviet Union, whose leaders once
boasted of dominating the world by force if necessary?
I thought all their now-independent satellites had
already done that far better than I ever could, by
their actual decisions and deeds.
>
Shame on Shaw - dead or alive - for his "admiration"
for such an repressive and oppressive and brutal
regime as the Soviet Union. Millions of innocent
Soviets paid dearly when such misguided admiration
sustained that system far longer than necessary.

And we Goanetters are sick of that quote from that
sicko, who happens to be one of your heroes along with
Dubya.God save the US of A!

I have been away from Goanet far too long! I had no
idea that Goanet old-timers like you and Mervyn were
now designated to speak on behalf of all its diverse
members worldwide.
>
I see that one of the architects of the demise of the
Soviet Union is now being called a "sicko". Is this
also a "relapse" or your normal Soviet-admiring self?
>
BTW, the Fabian socialism that Shaw espoused was
responsible for the Indian economy being burdened by a
millstone around its neck for 50 long years until a
new breed of Indian leaders came along, discarded it,
and finally unleashed the creativity and enterprise of
Indians on behalf of India, which was previously
benefitting the western democracies through the
massive brain drain that is now slowing and perhaps
even reversing itself.

Thank God that communism and extreme socialism have
been consigned to the trash-bin of history, where they
belong.
