ALDEN FERNANDES, a radiant star and all-rounder
Alden Charles Fernandes, 15 years of age and presently studying Grade 10 at
the Little Rock Indian School in Brahmavar, Udupi District, Karnataka, won his
seventh individual championship at the Annual Sports Meet held at his school
ground on November 15 and 16, 2007.
Alden secured first place in 100 meters dash, 200 meters, long jump, 4X100
meters relay and mixed relay. He was the captain of Iris House, which secured
second place; they missed the first place by two points Salvia House scored
809 points and Iris 807.
On November 17, 2007, he represented his school in the Inter-School Athletic
Meet for the ICSE and CBSE Schools of Udupi and DK District and secured the
first place in the two events assigned to him 100 meters dash and long jump.
He was the captain of his school. Twenty-two schools participated in the Meet.
On October 29, 2007 he appeared for Grade 5 Electronic Keyboard exam in Udupi
conducted by Trinity College London. He passed the exam in first class.
Alden is the son of Jyothi Fernandes of Mangalore and prominent writer on
Gulf-Goans e-Newsletter and author, Domnic Fernandes of Anjuna (Goa)/ex-ARAMCO
(Dhahran, KSA).

THIS FRIDAY (Nov. 30th) IN KUWAIT:
BLACK' Back with English subtitles
"BLACK Nhesop Atanchem Fashion", a Konkani language movie by International
Award Winning director T-Bush will be screened on Friday, November 30, 2007
at Hawally Auditorium at 3.00 pm sharp.
"BLACK" premiered earlier in August is the first Indian film to be made in
Kuwait produced mainly for the Konkani masses. But this time it is going to be
a delight for any nationality to come and watch as the film is going to have
English subtitles. Director of award winning short film in English, 'The
Letter' that won the Best Film Award at the 2005 London Film Festival, T-Bush
has included a crew of Goan and Mangalore-ian artistes for the making of BLACK.
The state-of-the-art director has made use of the latest technology available
for the film - the E-Cinema. Gate Passes available at Raja Stores (Kuwait
