Hi Gilbert
This is just to say that your response below might suggest that, perhaps
temporarily you have switched off intellectually or been forced to seek refuge
in pseudo psychology/psychiatry because you are unable to answer my very simple
question about how you can reconcile belief in casteism and belief in
Catholicism at the same time? And do remember that, I was merely responding to
your pious definition of religion when I posed my key question to you and also
that, one cannot plagiarise from ones own thoughts however often they are used.

However, not all is lost and lest your fellow casteists see you as throwing
in the towel and not even remotely trying to answer the specific question I
posed, nor in even attempting to defend casteism (the substantive issue on the
table) let me remind you that:

  1. I had welcomed you into my fold as an anti-racist/anti-casteist. This
window of opportunity remains open with a warm welcome to you and fellow caste
apologists when they see the light emanating from this long discourse on
casteism on Goanet and with other sane voices joining in.

  2. I have been consistently anti-racist for decades and latterly
anti-casteist as a university academic because of the moral imperative that all
forms of racism (and casteism is a distinctive and insidious form of racism)
are wrong as per all international authorities, the Catholic Church, and of
course national governments including India where caste is endemic. You seem to
link my concern over this issue, to some pseudo psychology/psychiatry you
apparently picked up from the Net. You forget that I studied psychology from
proper authoritative texts, until metaphorically, it literally poured out of my
ears and therefore I do not need some vacuous material from your source to try
to undermine me simply because you are definitely stumped by the question I
posed to you about how you can reconcile casteism with Catholicism and also as
noted by other Goanetters. I would have more respect for you if you simply
admitted that, you were unable to answer the question instead of
beating about the bush. Also, it would be nice if you acknowledged that, the
world contains millions of sane anti-racists like me whose business it is to
undermine all forms of racism including casteism, be it in academia, on the
Net, the police, army, civil service and in the corridors of power. I therefore
hope you can see how utterly foolish your view is of my psychic state regarding
my discourse about the "abomination" of caste as once illustrated by Mario.

You also seem to want to be treated exceptionally as an apologist for
casteism.. To me, this is totally strange and not in keeping with someone
living in the West with so much exposure about racisms and also being a
professional to boot.

Moreover, in the light of explicit and implicit segregation among the so called
'Catholic Bamons' of Goa, you should have been at the forefront in attacking
the casteism that categorises you from among the Khasti Bamons, Seth Bamons and
Sarwasat Bamons (plus others with varied spellings), not withstanding that some
of the latter are evidently barely articulate and coherent compared to you.

I now have a a reasonably accurate break-down of caste designations of the
Bamons on Goanet and suggest that you should find this internal Bamon
segregation utterly disgusting as I do, and also, about how the Catholic Church
continues its complicity in caste to this day. Hopefully, the Church's role in
this sordid caste affair will come out in an authoritative book sooner rather
than later.

Finally, in a lighter mood, let me ask you how St Peter at the Pearly Gates
might view a guy who claims that he is a devout Catholic but bears the Satanic
and unchristian belief of caste in his very being? OK, this may be yet another
challenging question to you but you really ought to try to answer such
searching questions rather than be dismissive of them because you haven't got a
clue or intellect to address them.
  Kind regards
  Very sanely,
  Cornel

Hi Cornel, I would have thought you would know that I consider you the
poster-boy for Goan casteism - inflating your own ego resume by demeaning other
Goans. Your anti-casteist stand puts you in a similar league / pathology as US
Senator Larry Craig.

I wish the casteists would just go away and leave Catholicism alone which they
have polluted in Goa for centuries by their vile ideology. In turn, I am very
critical of Catholicm in Goa that has been complicit in the evil of caste.
Herein lies the dilemma to which I would value your rationale...
I do hope desperately that, you may have an answer that is persuasive.
