The repair work of roads which is underway in Quepem is going on in a shabby
manner resulting in dust pollution thereby causing inconvenience to the public
and damaging the repair road within two days of its repair.
The PWD Quepem had undertaken the repair work of filling the pot holes of
road from Quepem town to igramol of which since june 2007 a dozens of time the
said road has been repaired. The last time the road was repaired with tar in
the last week of October 2007. The repair work was started on Monday which has
been completed today. Surprisingly within two days of its repair the pot holes
which were repaired/filled on Monday started appearing again. Which clearly
shows the quality of work done on the road.
That not only the pot holes started appearing again but the repair work
creates lot of dust pollution their by causing lot of inconveniece to the
general public. The villagers claims that the dust pollution is the result of
using sub standard concrete and use of inadequate use of tar while repairing .
Some aggrieved villager lead by Sanjeev Borkar today at around 4.30 went into
the office of PWD Quepem to question officials about the sub-standard of
work done but to their surprise not a single officials including the clerks
were seen in the office and the entire office seems to be managed by a peon
informed said Sanjeev who had lead the villager to the PWD office.

The villagers from Colomba claims that the Rivona Cave starts at Rivona and
opens at Curdi via Gulcond Donger
Yesterday on the Gulcond Donger at Colomba were mining activity are going,
while carrying out mining activity suddenly a cave got open and truck
operating at the mine meraculasly escaped from falling in it. The mining
company inorder to destroy evidence covered the same late in the evening
informed the villagers.
That today based on the complaint filed by the villagers one Deshpande from
the Archeological survey of India inspected the site.
