Ivana Furtado two time World Under - 8 Chess Champion left Delhi by train
for Goa today. She is expected to arrive at Margao station at 7 a.m. on
Sunday. A grand reception has been planned for her by the Goa State Chess
Association. President Sameer Salgaocar appealed to chess lovers to come out
in large numbers to greet the World Champion.
It may be recalled that at the World Youth Championship held at Turkey,
Ivana was the only Indian to win a gold medal, retaining the title she won
last year. However the field this year was even stronger ith the Russians
and Chinese in full force.
