An anti-IT Habitat rally was held in Taleigaon this morning (Sun, Dec 9).
It started near the Taleigaon church and culminated a short distance away
from the intended IT Habitat. There was substantial police presence all
through the route.
The meeting was addressed by luminaries, apolitical and political,
environmental and mental, maniacal and diabolical. Some of the names I
remember are Annand Madgavkar, Sidhanath Buyao, the fiery and the
photographic Aires Rodrigues, and the Godfather of Taleigaon Babush
Monserrate ("If the IT Habitat is built, it will be my blood that will be
the first to spill.")
