I decided the matter was complicated when Dr Basilio
Monterio was branded a caste-apologist. He is a
wonderful human being, a dear friend of mine and my
family's. He is not at all an apologist for caste, his
views on the subject are not born out of thin air but
from years of living the system in Goa. I hope that
