Today I saw Panjim from here, from what is the highest perch in the city -

More pictures of the sights later but for now I will simply say that today's Panjim looks like sh*t isotropically from above. It is somewhat better than being on the ground where Panjim IS sh*t, thanks to the "noble savages" aka ghatis that have overrun Goa.

The real estate gigolos - Alcon, Kamats, and now the national ratfu&#%rs - have done a splendid number on the city. National integration has been achieved. Amchi erstwhile sobit Ponje now looks like any other whore of an Indian city.

Upon returning to terra firma I headed to Hotel Mandovi where GHAG had arranged a talk by an urban planning expert from America. If there was an original thought or a crumb of insight anywhere in the lecture, it was not visible to the naked eye. Other than that he was a great expert.
