Hi Gabe
   a) There is hell of a lot of literature (novels especially) that deal with
this irrational phenomena or belief that some people are automatically better
than they are or even born to rule. Such believers are deemed by writers to
have the souls of servants---so do be aware my friend what you might wish for!
The UK TV serial Upstairs, Downstairs, epitomised this phenomena rather well
and the character Jackson was the classic example of one with the soul of a
servant. I dread to think that this image of Jackson may transfer to you in my
and other people's imagination! It would be truly sad!

  b) You suggest that Bamons have class (as metaphorically used). Of course I
agree with you that some would but I think you are inclined to unwittingly
generalise that many do and also that you would recognise a bamon if you saw
one in say London. You shouldn't be taken in by looks as they can be very
deceptive and many a crook has foxed people for a while by pretending to be a
member of the aristocracy, that is, those not already in prison for fraud and
larceny! Me thinks however that you appropriate this ephemeral thing called
class rather casually. As some of our Bamons, especially in Goa haven't quite
seen the light of day in terms of modern thinking are you perhaps confusing
such a lot as having class rather than undiluted peasantry in their
bloodstream and psyche? Just a thought from one who would reject your
utterances on class and Bamons with considerable disgust. Do also remember
something important. Caste carriers like the Bamons thrive on acquiescence and
acknowledgement of their supposed 'superiority' from others. Take this away
and they have absolutely nothing to sustain them. I suggest you use contempt
when respect is not deserving and see your Bamons wilt before your very eyes!
Having a sound intellect also helps as is so evident in much of this ongoing
discourse on caste. Have you encountered a single robust and intelligent
riposte from our supposed defenders of caste? All these defenders of caste
have been reduced to unintelligible gobbledygook in what they have tried to
write.

Did you have the guts to tell them that there are no
Bamons in true Christianity? If they considered
themselves to be "superior" did you have the guts to
tell them they were no more superior than anyone else,
like Victor did at the meeting he was attending?
