Hi there!
Cip, here is what I know about it!
The three kings Feast in Cansaulim as are all parish
Feasts in Goa, suffer from the same Feudalistic
Communidades System, as far as Celebrations and
celebrating President is concerned.
It's never the predominant Caste that appoints the
Prez, but the Gauncari System! Every Year diferent
Gauncari Tribe (may I say) irrespective of what caste,
takes turn to appoint the Prez with his immediate
family who do the spending and organising of the
festivities. No non-Gauncares will never get or ever
got a dig at this, in the past. So much for democracy
in local church affairs.
Is this not a Feudal Gauncari-itva?? What are the
enlightened Gauncari Goan Christians doing to
eradicate this system and be more democratic involving
all villagers/Parishioners in Church affairs. the
prevailing system is wholly un-Christian!!
