Ten Cong workers injured in clash over IT park in Goa
Ten youth Congress workers were severely injured in a clash between
supporters of Rajiv Gandhi IT Park and Taleigao villagers near Panaji
on Tuesday.
The incident occurred when Goa Pradesh Youth Congress workers
organised a rally in support of the IT habitat at Taleigao village on
the city outskirts.
The villagers led by legislator Anatasio Monserratte are opposing the
IT Park alleging it to be a "real estate scam".
The villagers who roughed up ten youth Congress workers in the
presence of a strong police force attacked the rally.
The situation remained tense in the village with police deploying
additional force.
