Dear Mr. Editor,
The news item on the assault on Goa Pradesh Youth Congress activists makes
pathetic reading. Pathetic, because some of our youth have become imbecile and
puppets in the hands of politicians. It exposes the type of youth the Goa
Pradesh Congress has. Instead of utilising their youth to gain knowledge and
learning to do good; instead of acknowledging the sacrifices and morality
parents teach them; they choose the wrong path of making a fast buck. Their
sole aim in life being, to one day become a Politician or a Minister and amass
wealth at the cost of others instead of learning to be a Statesman. Our
successive Governments are mostly to be blamed for this state of affairs as
they have all these years given a good example of lack of foresight.
Politicians should realise the old konkani adage: “When the cup is full, it
will start spilling”. Goa’s cup is full. You have only seen so far
irresponsible youth bashed up and thrown in the gutters where they actually
deserve to be. A lot more inevitable is still to come as long as our
politicians and their followers stay irrational.
