Hi All,
What happened 50 years ago (half a century) is ancient.
I remember when I was in Guirim Boarding school, there was a special dinning
hall for the privileged, they ate special food while we had watery curry with
TWO pieces of meat in it.
These boys belonged to the TARVOTI or AFRICAN parents.
So you see, I suffered discrimination even when my parents paid my boarding
fees.
Did some parents pay more? If they can afford it why not.
Money does not equate caste.
It so happened that Chardi or Bamon had better education those days thereby
earning more.
Similarly Hindu Goans like my family earned more and got better education and
travelled to Africa because we converted to Christianity. (Hindus not allowed
to go overseas).
Hindus AND some of you may complain bitterly - but it does not hold water.
Such is LIFE.
ED.

Note: No offence to anyone.
Not all charddi may be the same (but I am yet to find one-different)
If no one believes me on above, I am sure there would be atleast one
who will, and that's the priest (if at all he reads). Not many houses have or
had two seating rooms.
