Dear Nigel,
Only God can save humankind. Jesus came to save us. Does it mean that those
who do not know Jesus will be condemned, though they have been living
according to the dictates of conscience? Jesus died for all. Therefore, if
we believe that God revealed himself through and in Jesus, then Jesus is
God-Man. He is "Life and Resurrection", "the Way, Truth and Life". Only
Jesus can save humanity. People who do not know the Truth without any fault
on their part, may be saved by God, who knows our hearts and lives. They can
have their 'lights' and 'saviours'. Only God can save us. We are sinners and
need his Grace.
