First let me wish the management & staff of GOA NET and ALL THE MEMBERS on the New Year's Day:
A wish that New Year's Day will bring what's bright and true for our Goa, and be full of love and happiness the whole year through. Best Wishes for a Happy New Year 2008. Now let me answer part of Miguel Braganza's posting to me. In stead of me answering his posting under title - Miguel Braganza's love letter to Rajan..and Black Box that appeared in Goanet as Message: 6, Dated: Sun, 30 Dec 2007, Mr. Rajan Parrikar has nicely answered it though Rajan's answer was to Nelson Ferrao under Message: 5, Dated: Sun, 30 Dec 2007 (both these messages appeared on Goanet Digest, Vol 2, Issue 1253). Here I reprint the part of Rajan's answer with emphasis on his last line: And what the hell do you mean by "solutions to every problem"? He also has a problem for every solution. Show some respect to him, will you? I think Rajan is more right here because Miguel is already on record saying: POSITION is the last thing I want, though I hold posts in several NGOs and CSOs. I have also served in Goa Administration, Goa University and in the corporate world as a CEO. Your advice is too late in the day. His acclaims do not stop at this point. Miguel has also provided rich history of his ancestors under his posting to Goa Net (Ref - Clarification: Prashant Naik is NOT a member of the Yuva de Goa, Message: 9 Date: Sun, 30 Dec 2007, Goanet Digest, Vol 2, Issue 1252). This message provides indebt sketch of his personality. In this message I would only pick up few lines from his posting which reads as follows: Caste and creed did not ...and does not..... matter to me or any of my family members. I grew up in Xettia vaddo, mostly populated by Xettt [Shet= Daivadnya Brahman], Konknne [= Bhandari] ani Bamon [=Saraswat] and knew the differences between Tar, Tari and Tarcars ...but never let that affect our relationships. My father was a teacher and freedom fighter, my grandfather was an advocate and author of a researched book on Mapusa and my great grandfather was a doctor decorated by the Portuguese King. I do not know if that makes my family "decent". I do know that honesty is a way of life with us. I may be vocal about it. The rest are honest all the same. Anyone who knows my family will not easily separate the two! I would also add some more acclaims to his credit which are picked up from his earlier postings to Goanet. He is too good at correcting spelling mistakes; He is too good at guiding members on any subject. He is too good a xenophobic (Ref his reply to me!). While according to some Goanet members - He may be self styled, He may be egocentric, He may be megalomaniac. But finally at the end of the day he is very much high profile Goan! Is he not? - Though some Goanet members might have had enough of his rhetoric in this forum for quite long! As regards his parting comments I will answer them later. Fist let me enjoy 31st December 2007 and welcome the New Year 2008. Best regards, Dr. U. G. Barad
